NORMANRECORDS Cheap Red is a new band formed by 555 lord and leader Stewart Anderson (him of Boyracer fame) and his missus Jen Turrell (also of Boyracer, Possum Moods etc). There’s a couple of other folks in there before you think their hogging all the limelight including my favourite named popstar of the week Arland Nicewander. Amazing. This self titled debut is a double CD featuring a 2nd CD jam packed with remixes by Bracken, The Declining Winter, Sisterhood of Convoluted Thinkers, Dj Downfall, Kid 606, Teamforest, Steward and lots more. The main album though is 14 track of typical Anderson pop punk with the majority of songs clocking in at less than 2 minutes long. There’s a few more mellow moments when things go more sedate but the album as a whole is an upbeat garage pop punk fuzzfest which is pretty good as whole. I’ve not even got around to playing the remix CD yet as I was too busy listening to the main album. Some catchy tunes on there and I reckon it’s well worth checking out!
